Truck hits Car in Galeton after losing Brakes
GALETON – No one was injured in an accident that happened in Galeton on Thursday, January 27 at 11:06 am.
According to police, 47-year-old Robert Rice Jr., of Galeton, was traveling down the hill on Route 6 just before West Street in Galeton, when his brakes failed.
Rice, who was attempting to slow down due to a tractor trailer turning up ahead, attempted to circumvent the accident by turning onto West Street, but instead struck a 1995 Oldsmobile Achieva, driven by Peter Anthony, 53, of Galeton.
Galeton Fire Company assisted State Police at the scene.
